Labette County's board of county commissioners may submit to voters the question of imposing a countywide retailers' sales tax at a rate of 0.125% to provide financial support to fire departments located in the county

The tax would expire after five years from the date it is first collected

The tax may be extended or reenacted for additional five-year periods if the board of county commissioners submits the question to voters at an election for each additional period

All revenue received from this tax would be retained by the county and expended only for the stated purpose of supporting fire departments

Amends K.S.A. 2025 Supp. 12-187, 12-189, and 12-192 to add Labette County to the list of counties with specific countywide sales tax authority
