Unit owners associations cannot limit or prohibit installation of rooftop solar energy conversion systems on individually owned units through deeds, covenants, bylaws, rules, or declarations

Associations may adopt reasonable placement rules for rooftop solar systems, but rules cannot prevent installation, impair functioning, restrict use, or adversely affect cost or efficiency

Protections do not apply to common elements or limited common elements of common interest communities

Becomes part of the Kansas Uniform Common Interest Owners Bill of Rights Act and takes effect upon publication in the statute book
