Amends K.S.A. 21-5512 to expand the definition of "person in a position of authority for a school" for purposes of the unlawful sexual relations statute, which criminalizes consensual sexual conduct between authority figures and students age 16 or older

Defines "person in a position of authority for a school" as someone who is not a student, is delegated authority by the school to interact with students, and is either designated through employment to provide services for the school or is a contractor/employee of a contractor providing school services

Removes school volunteers from the definition of "person in a position of authority for a school" through Senate Committee amendment

Applies to public and private schools offering grades kindergarten through 12, with violations classified as a severity level 5 person felony

Takes effect upon publication in the Kansas statute book
