Robert Tomlinson (May 6, 1957 – February 11, 2025) served as Kansas State Representative for the 24th District from 1993 through 2003, known for bipartisan collaboration and advocacy for infrastructure and special education services

Worked nearly two decades (1985-2003) as a social studies teacher and counselor in the Shawnee Mission School District's Alternative Education Program at Horizons High School, mentoring at-risk students

Served on the Roeland Park City Council from 1989 through 1993 before entering the state legislature

Continued public service after leaving the legislature as Assistant Commissioner of Insurance (2003-2012) and in leadership roles at the Department of Administration until retirement in 2018
