Medical and research facilities receiving state funds are prohibited from using genetic sequencers or genetic analysis software produced by foreign adversaries including China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela (Maduro regime), and Syria

Prohibited equipment that cannot be permanently disabled must be removed and replaced with compliant alternatives

Facilities may request reimbursement from the state treasurer for the cost of replacing prohibited equipment and software, with requests due by October 1, 2025

The governor, in consultation with the adjutant general, may designate additional entities as foreign adversaries

The law takes effect upon publication in the statute book and includes a severability clause protecting remaining provisions if any portion is found unconstitutional
