Kansas State Corporation Commission must hire an outside consulting firm to conduct a technical and legal feasibility study on promoting nuclear energy generation in the state

Consulting firm requirements include 35+ years in the nuclear industry, having served at least 90% of existing U.S. nuclear operators as customers within the past 10 years, and 50% of revenue from nuclear licensing over 20 years

Study must evaluate economic and environmental impacts, optimal reactor designs, land/siting criteria, small modular reactors and microreactors, workforce development, job creation, and policy recommendations to support nuclear adoption

Appropriates $375,000 from the state general fund for fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, to fund the feasibility study

Study must be submitted to the legislature, governor, and relevant Senate and House committees by April 1, 2026
