Kansas law enforcement agencies and officers would be prohibited from assisting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with apprehensions, arrests, or serving removal warrants at places of worship, schools, and hospitals

Any existing or future agreements between Kansas law enforcement and ICE would be void to the extent they conflict with these protected location restrictions

Law enforcement officers who knowingly violate the prohibition may face suspension, revocation, or denial of their state certification

Protected locations include churches, synagogues, mosques, and temples; public and private preschools through secondary schools, including vocational training sites and school-sponsored events; and all medical facilities including clinics, urgent care centers, and mental health facilities

The bill preserves law enforcement authority to enforce Kansas state laws as otherwise authorized
