Labette County's board of county commissioners may submit to voters a countywide retailers' sales tax at a rate of 0.125% to provide financial support to fire departments located in the county

The tax would expire after five years from the date first collected, but may be extended or reenacted for additional five-year periods through subsequent voter approval

Revenue from the tax would be retained entirely by the county and used exclusively for fire department support, not subject to the standard apportionment formula between the county and cities

Amends K.S.A. 2025 Supp. 12-187, 12-189, and 12-192 to add Labette County to the list of counties with special countywide sales tax authority

Takes effect upon publication in the statute book
