Limited liability partnerships (LLPs) are added to the list of business entities prohibited from owning or leasing agricultural land in Kansas unless they qualify as family farm or authorized agricultural entities

LLPs seeking to establish dairy or swine production facilities must now obtain county approval through either a county commission resolution or a favorable vote by county electors (requiring 5% petition signature threshold)

LLPs that held agricultural land prior to July 1, 2026 are grandfathered and exempt from the new restrictions

LLPs are explicitly excluded from participating in swine marketing pools, consistent with restrictions on other corporate entities

Violations carry civil penalties up to $50,000, with mandatory divestiture of illegally acquired land within one year of judgment
