Legislature adjourns at close of business on February 19, 2026, and reconvenes on February 24, 2026

Chief clerk of the house, secretary of the senate, and designated employees must attend to duties daily during adjournment (except Sundays) to receive messages from the governor

Legislators do not receive subsistence allowances under K.S.A. 46-137a(b) for days when both houses are adjourned for more than two days (Sundays excepted)

Legislators attending authorized legislative meetings or conference committee meetings during adjournment receive travel expenses and subsistence allowances as provided by law
