Legislative Description

Direct the Department for Environmental Protection to establish a water quality advisory group to review and recommend improvements to assessment methods used for determining the water quality status of streams in the Commonwealth; attach the water quality advisory group to the Energy and Environment Cabinet for administrative purposes; name the members of the group; require the group to make findings and recommendations regarding certain water quality issues; require the group's findings and recommendations to be submitted to the Legislative Research Commission on or before November 29, 2013; require the group to meet three times before submitting its findings and recommendations; direct the Clerk of the Senate to send a copy of the Resolution to R. Bruce Scott, commissioner of the Department for Environmental Protection.
