Kentucky Department of Education must develop Type 1 diabetes informational materials for parents and guardians, in coordination with the Department of Health and Kentucky Board of Licensed Diabetes Educators

Materials must include a description of Type 1 diabetes, risk factors and warning signs, the need for early detection screening using blood autoantibody tests, and recommendations to consult primary care providers if warning signs appear

Informational materials must be made available to school districts at no cost on the department's website

Local boards of education and public charter school boards must annually provide the Type 1 diabetes materials to parents of students in preschool through grade 12
