Removes the rebuttable presumption that joint custody and equally shared parenting time is in the best interest of the child from Kentucky custody law (KRS 403.270, 403.280, 403.315, 403.340)

Eliminates the requirement that courts construct parenting time schedules that "maximize" time each parent has with the child, replacing it with schedules that are simply "consistent with ensuring the child's welfare"

Removes the provision that domestic violence orders automatically negate the joint custody presumption, since the presumption itself is being eliminated

Retains the existing "best interests of the child" standard with courts required to give equal consideration to each parent and any de facto custodian when determining custody

Makes technical corrections updating gendered pronouns ("his" to "his or her") throughout the custody statutes
