Extends the deadline from January 1, 2026 to January 1, 2028 for requiring alcohol and drug peer support specialists to be registered under KRS Chapter 309, and expands the requirement to cover behavioral health multi-specialty groups and any entity billing for peer support services

Eliminates the "temporary alcohol and drug peer support specialist" classification from Kentucky statutes, removing references throughout licensing and registration requirements

Removes limits on the maximum number of hours of direct client care that may be provided by registered alcohol and drug peer support specialists

Establishes the Peer Support Professionals Work Group to develop statewide requirements for licensed peer support professionals and study creating a dedicated board, with recommendations due to the Interim Joint Committee on Health Services by November 1, 2026

Declares an emergency, making the act effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor
