Property owners or authorized agents may request law enforcement agencies to immediately remove unlawful occupants from real property by submitting a "Petition to Remove Persons Unlawfully Occupying Real Property" with government-issued ID verification

Removal applies only when the occupant has never been a tenant, never had any agreement to occupy, the property was not public, and there is no pending litigation; immediate family members of the owner are exempt from removal

Law enforcement must serve a notice to immediately vacate without unnecessary delay upon verifying the petition; service fee is $20, and officers may arrest occupants for trespass or outstanding warrants

Law enforcement officers and property owners acting in good faith receive immunity from criminal and civil liability; owners may change locks and remove occupants' personal property to the property line

Persons wrongfully removed may file a civil action in District Court within 60 days and may recover possession, court costs, and attorney's fees; the Kentucky State Police must create and post the petition form on its website
