Children are prohibited from initiating, intervening in, or becoming a party to child support actions or related divorce proceedings, and cannot receive support payments directly unless emancipated due to age and still eligible for support

Child support orders cannot be entered, continued, or made retroactive for any period after a child reaches age 18, unless the child was under 18 when the action to establish or enforce support was initiated

Support payments must be directed to the parent, custodian, or agency substantially contributing to the child's support, and wages remain subject to attachment for current, owed, or future child support obligations

Health care coverage costs must be allocated between parents proportionally to their combined monthly adjusted gross income, with coverage considered "reasonable in cost" if it does not exceed 5% of the responsible parent's gross income

The first $250 of annual medical expenses is covered by the parent maintaining health insurance; extraordinary medical expenses (uninsured costs exceeding $250 per year) are allocated proportionally between parents based on their combined income
