General Assembly members and members-elect with certificates of election may prefile bills and resolutions with the Legislative Research Commission director for the next regular session

Prefiled legislation must be in final form meeting Kentucky Constitution requirements and include the sponsor's full signature below their printed name

The Legislative Research Commission director must assign numbers in order of receipt, publish prefiled bills on the Commission's website, and deliver them to the appropriate chamber clerk on the first day of the regular session

Prefiled bills become void if the sponsor is no longer a General Assembly member when the session convenes, and the director shall not deliver such bills to the clerks

No limit on the number of bills a member may prefile
