Restructures Kentucky's alternative teacher certification routes from numbered "Options" (1-9) into named pathways including: Exceptional Work Experience, College Faculty, Adjunct Instructor, Veteran of Armed Forces, University-based Program, Institute, Teach for America, and Residency programs

Allows candidates to demonstrate content knowledge through an academic major/minor, graduate degree content area, OR passing score on academic content assessment, rather than requiring specific assessments designated by the Education Professional Standards Board

Creates a new pathway for existing certified teachers with 2+ years of experience to expand certification to additional subject areas or grade bands by demonstrating content knowledge and instructional skills

Requires first-time renewal of professional certificates earned through certain alternative routes to include completion of Kentucky Department of Education-approved trainings on statutorily mandated teacher preparation content

Repeals KRS 161.049 regarding professional support teams and alternate training programs, and eliminates the local school district training program (former Option 2) as a certification pathway
