Teachers may immediately remove disruptive students from the classroom, and removed students cannot return that day without agreement from both the teacher and principal/assistant principal

Students removed from the same classroom 3 times within 30 days are classified as "chronically disruptive" and may be suspended without additional justification

Principals may permanently remove a student from a classroom for the remainder of the school year if continued placement would chronically disrupt education for other students

Boards must review expulsions within 30 days before they end to determine whether to extend them for up to 12 additional months, repeating this process until the expulsion ends or the student is no longer subject to compulsory attendance

Alternative placements for removed students may include another classroom, virtual programs, or alternative settings approved by the superintendent, with permanent removals subject to board-adopted appeal processes
