Amends KRS 392.020 governing surviving spouse inheritance rights when a spouse dies without a will (intestate)

Creates an exception to the surviving spouse's life estate interest in property the deceased spouse owned during the marriage but not at death

Exempts inherited property from spousal life estate claims if the property was acquired by the deceased spouse through inheritance during the marriage and is not the couple's primary residence

Preserves existing rights: surviving spouse still receives 1/2 of surplus real estate owned at death in fee simple, 1/2 of surplus personal property, and life estate in 1/3 of other qualifying real estate
