Full-time employees of Kentucky's executive, judicial, and legislative branches receive up to 30 days of paid maternity leave upon the birth of a child, with no salary deduction

Leave must be used within one year of birth and can be taken as a continuous 30-day block, or as a 20-day block plus 10 additional days taken separately or intermittently

Multiple births during a single pregnancy are treated as one birth with leave taken concurrently

Unused maternity leave does not carry over, convert to other benefits, or pay out upon separation from state service

Administrative regulations including 101 KAR 2:102 and 101 KAR 3:015 must be amended or repealed within 90 days for compliance
