Marriage is prohibited and void in Kentucky for any person under 18 years of age, eliminating the previous exception that allowed 17-year-olds to marry with court approval

Repeals KRS 402.205, which established the process for 17-year-olds to petition family court or District Court for permission to marry

Courts may declare void any marriage where a person was under 18 at the time of marriage, upon petition by any "next friend" on behalf of the minor

Both parties must be present to obtain a marriage license and must provide documentary proof of age (birth certificate, passport, driver's license, or other government-issued document)

Lawful marriages entered into before the effective date of this act, or lawful marriages from other states/countries before the parties moved to Kentucky, remain valid
