Amends KRS 72.450 to explicitly authorize cremation as an alternative to burial for unclaimed bodies in coroner possession after at least 6 months of attempting to locate next of kin

Grants fiscal courts, consolidated local governments, or urban-county governments the authority to decide between burial or cremation when responsible for the expense

Requires local governments to consult with the county coroner before making the burial versus cremation decision

Mandates that if a decedent is known to be of Jewish descent, authorities must contact Chabad of the Bluegrass to inquire if they will pay for burial; similar outreach required for members of other religious communities that have expressed willingness to cover burial costs

Decedent's money and property found on the body shall be used to help defray burial or cremation expenses, with excess funds escheating to the governmental agency after one year
