Kentucky State Police commissioner must allow officers and Trooper R Class/CVE R Class employees to engage in off-duty police employment and secondary employment, subject to commissioner approval

Permitted off-duty work includes contracts with public entities, Transportation Cabinet contractors, nonpublic entities receiving state funding, and ticketed events with public safety concerns

Prohibited off-duty work includes retail establishments, weddings or private parties, and businesses that primarily sell alcoholic beverages for on-site consumption

Officers may use state-owned motor vehicles, uniforms, equipment, and facilities for approved off-duty employment, with the commissioner establishing policies governing such use

Off-duty employment must not create conflicts with departmental duties, reflect unfavorably on the department, or impair the officer's performance of official duties
