Persons convicted of any hunting or fishing law violation (in Kentucky, other states, or under federal law) are now ineligible to serve on the Fish and Wildlife Resources Commission, in addition to existing felony disqualification

Commission member candidates must now demonstrate active membership in a Kentucky conservation or sportsman's organization and knowledge of the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation

New commission appointees must file a sworn affidavit with the Secretary of State detailing their qualifications, and Senate confirmation requires committee review of this affidavit before floor consideration

Commission members must complete 6 hours of executive branch ethics training within one year of appointment, then 3 hours annually thereafter

Department commissioner candidates must have 10 years of active hunting/fishing participation, 3 consecutive years of license holding, and no commission service within the past 3 years; future vacancies require a national search
