Kentucky Senate resolution posthumously honoring Martha Layne Collins (December 7, 1936 – November 1, 2025), who served as the first female Governor of Kentucky from 1983-1987

Recruited Toyota Motor Manufacturing to establish its Georgetown, Kentucky plant in 1986, now Toyota's largest vehicle plant in the world employing over 9,000 people with over $154 million invested in community and educational initiatives

Created the Governor's School for the Arts in 1987, initially serving 120 students and now reaching over 500 artists annually across 10 art disciplines, impacting over 5,000 students total

Previously served as Kentucky's first Clerk of the new Supreme Court and Court of Appeals (1976) and as Lieutenant Governor alongside Governor John Y. Brown, Jr. (1979-1983)

Directs the Clerk of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to Senator Reginald L. Thomas for delivery to her husband, Dr. Bill Collins
