Kentucky Senate resolution honoring Dr. Jacqueline Sugarman as recipient of the 2026 Jean Sabharwal Award from Bluegrass Families First for advocacy for children and families

Dr. Sugarman serves as professor of pediatrics at the University of Kentucky and medical director for the Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass and Children's Advocacy Centers of Kentucky

Helped create the Division of Pediatric Forensic Medicine at UK to evaluate children experiencing maltreatment and neglect, and holds board certification in child abuse pediatrics

Collaborated to write the Kentucky Medical Protocol for Child Sexual Assault/Abuse Evaluation and helped create the first Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE-P) course in the Commonwealth

Received the 2025 National Sexual Violence Resource Center's Visionary Voice Award for commitment to trauma-informed care and protecting children from sexual abuse
