Kentucky Senate resolution recognizing the CSX Santa Train, an 83-year holiday tradition serving Appalachian communities since 1943

The train travels a 110-mile route through Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee, from Shelbiana, Kentucky to Kingsport, Tennessee

In 2025, the Santa Train distributed more than 15,000 toys, 6,000 train safety books, and 5,000 bags containing cold-weather gear to children and families along the route

Community partners supporting the effort include Appalachian Power, Food City, the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce, and CSX employee volunteers

The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of the resolution to Senator Phillip Wheeler for presentation to CSX
