LA HB11

Creates mandatory minimum sentences for repeat violent felony offenders: third conviction requires at least 50% of the maximum sentence, fourth or subsequent conviction requires at least 75% of the maximum sentence

Applies to felony crimes of violence as defined in R.S. 14:2(B), but only when the district attorney does not pursue enhanced sentencing under the Habitual Offender Law (R.S. 15:529.1)

Allows facts of prior convictions to be submitted to juries for specific findings, removing the previous exception that excluded prior conviction facts from jury consideration
