Amends R.S. 11:2221(C) governing the Municipal Police Employees' Retirement System Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP)

Allows members who began DROP participation on or before June 30, 2024, with a three-year election, and who are still participating on July 1, 2025, to extend their participation up to a total of five years

Requires participants seeking extension to notify the board of trustees in writing by the earlier of their original final participation date or August 1, 2025

Maintains existing rule that participation periods may exceed five calendar years if employment is interrupted, but cannot exceed 60 nonconsecutive months total

Effective upon governor's signature or as otherwise provided by the Louisiana Constitution
