Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) transfers from the Office of the Governor to the Military Department of Louisiana

GOHSEP director will be employed by and report to the adjutant general rather than being appointed by the governor with Senate confirmation

Director's salary will be set by the adjutant general instead of the governor, and the deputy director position no longer requires Senate confirmation

During gubernatorially declared disasters or emergencies, GOHSEP and its director will report directly to the governor or the governor's designee

Department of Public Safety and Corrections, office of state police retains its existing powers, duties, and authority, which are not superseded by GOHSEP's emergency management provisions
