Current and retired district attorneys, assistant district attorneys, and district attorney investigators may request that public bodies or third parties not publish or remove their personal information from internet publications

Protected personal information includes home address, phone numbers, email, Social Security number, driver's license, bank accounts, credit card numbers, license plates, date of birth, children's school/daycare, place of worship, and family members' employment locations

Public bodies must acknowledge requests within 10 days and remove information within 15 days; third parties must remove information within 72 hours

Protected individuals may seek mandamus, declaratory relief, injunctive relief, and reasonable attorney fees for violations; damages may also be sought against third parties

Violations by third parties constitute a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days imprisonment or a fine up to $1,000, or both; effective February 1, 2026
