LA HB39

Authorizes the Terrebonne Parish president to remove commissioners of the Houma-Terrebonne Housing Authority without cause, overriding existing law that requires cause such as neglect of duty, misconduct, or felony conviction

Excludes tenant commissioners from the without-cause removal provision, protecting the at least one tenant representative required on the five-member board

Requires the parish president to send written notice of removal to the affected commissioner and a copy to the board of commissioners

Removal becomes effective upon the commissioner's receipt of the notice or 10 days after the notice date, whichever is later

Eliminates the appeals hearing process that existing law provides to commissioners removed for cause
