FAA-certified aviation maintenance technicians are authorized to enter public airport facilities to perform assessment, inspection, consultation, preventative maintenance, or minor repair work on privately owned aircraft stored in leased or owned hangars

Preventative maintenance and minor repair work require advance authorization from the airport and must comply with 14 CFR Part 43 federal regulations

Technicians must be authorized by the aircraft owner/lessee, comply with airport security and access control policies, present valid FAA certification upon request, and provide proof of liability insurance upon request

If the aircraft is stored in a hangar leased or owned by someone other than the aircraft owner, prior written or documented permission from the hangar owner/lessee is required
