Seafood processors and distributors must submit quarterly reports to the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism detailing the volume of seafood bought and sold, including species and country/state of origin

Beginning January 2027, dealers applying for an imported seafood license must submit annual detailed accounting of all imported seafood to the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, including species, product form, dates, countries of origin, and supply chain information

The Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism must maintain a database of the processor/distributor reports and may request additional tracking data such as product form and relevant dates

Processors and distributors who fail to submit required information for two or more consecutive quarters may face fines similar to those under R.S. 40:31.35.1

The Department of Wildlife and Fisheries must share imported seafood data collected from dealers with the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism
