Changes the governor's appointment authority for 32 occupational licensing boards from mandatory selection "from" lists submitted by professional associations to discretionary consideration where the governor "may consider" those lists

Affects boards regulating professions including accountants, barbers, engineers, dentists, nurses, physicians, contractors, psychologists, veterinarians, physical therapists, social workers, and behavior analysts, among others

Removes the requirement that professional trade associations effectively control board appointments through their nominee lists while preserving the nomination process itself

Professional associations must still submit lists of nominees as under current law, but the governor gains flexibility to appoint qualified individuals not on those lists

Applies to appointments made under R.S. 37 covering dozens of specific licensing boards, committees, and authorities throughout Louisiana
