Reduces the fee for updating any class of driver's license (Class D, E, or commercial A/B/C) to become REAL ID compliant to a flat $10, down from current fees ranging from $20.25 to $76.50 depending on license type and residency

Exempts the $10 REAL ID update fee from all mandatory contributions that normally apply to license fees, including payments to the Louisiana State Police Retirement System Fund, New Orleans police pension fund, and litter abatement account

Preserves the original renewal/expiration date on the existing license when a driver updates solely for REAL ID compliance, rather than resetting the license term

Applies the reduced fee equally to New Orleans residents and non-residents, as well as to applicants 70 years of age or older who typically pay reduced license fees
