Directs the Louisiana State Law Institute to collect data on justice of the peace courts (390 justices statewide) and city courts (located in 48 cities)

Study must examine jurisdiction, operational costs and savings, funding methods, and expenditures for both court types

Both court systems have concurrent jurisdiction with district courts in all civil matters under current law

Report must be submitted to the legislature no later than February 1, 2026

Print and electronic copies of the report must be filed with the David R. Poynter Legislative Research Library
