Requests the Louisiana legislative auditor to review audits conducted under R.S. 24:515.2 and compile a report on pre- and post-adjudication costs, fines, and fees collected by local and state entities

Report must include an updated estimate of how much Louisiana's judicial system is funded through criminal fines, fees, and court costs, plus the costs incurred to collect these revenues

Requires identification of criminal fines and fees authorized by law but rarely imposed, as well as an estimate of outstanding debt from previously ordered fines and fees

Must provide an updated cost estimate for a court system fully funded without fines and fees, along with recommendations for alternative funding methods

Report deadline is January 30, 2026, with copies to be submitted to the David R. Poynter Legislative Research Library
