State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and Department of Education must coordinate with the Louisiana Center for Safe Schools to provide mapping data of all public schools to law enforcement for emergency response purposes

Local school systems must submit blueprints and school mapping data to local law enforcement agencies, public safety offices, the Louisiana Center for Safe Schools, and the school's office; all data must be collected, produced, and stored within the United States

School mapping data must be compatible with existing public safety software platforms without requiring additional purchases, include site-specific labeling (room labels, hallway names, door numbers, hazard locations, AED and trauma kit locations), be verified through walk-throughs, and be overlaid on aerial imagery with grid coordinates

Implementation follows a phased schedule based on school size and construction date: schools built within the last 5 years begin first, followed by schools with 1,000+ students (year 2), 600-999 students (year 3), 300-599 students (year 4), and under 299 students (year 5)

School blueprints and mapping data are exempt from the Public Records Law; charter schools are subject to these requirements; the act becomes effective when the legislature appropriates funding for implementation
