LA SB134

Expands the definition of "health care provider" to include any entity licensed or certified by state agencies or state boards, and removes the requirement that business be conducted "principally" by health care providers

Broadens the definition of "health care" to explicitly include administration, services, policies and procedures, staffing, and custodial services by licensed or certified staff

Clarifies that "health care" and "malpractice" encompass all acts associated with medical treatment, whether directly related to clinical care or performed in an administrative or managerial capacity

Adds explicit language covering staffing, training, and supervision of health care providers within the scope of malpractice liability

Amends R.S. 40:1151.1(6) and 1231.1(A)(9), (10), and (13), with an effective date of August 1, 2025
