Health insurance issuers must accept enrollment of retired district attorney office employees who were previously covered under the office's group policy, are not yet Medicare-eligible, and worked for offices funded by dedicated local sales and use taxes

Insurers cannot discriminate between active and retired employees of the same district attorney's office based on employment status

District attorney offices are not required to offer health insurance to retirees and may limit coverage to active employees only

Insurers are not required to offer retirees better terms, rates, or benefits than those offered to active employees, nor cover retirees in situations where active employees could lawfully be denied coverage
