St. George Fire Protection District board of commissioners shall consist of five members appointed by multiple governing bodies

St. George City Council appoints two members who must reside within both the city of St. George and the fire protection district boundaries

East Baton Rouge Metropolitan Council appoints two members, one selected by the district No. 3 representative and one by the district No. 9 representative, who must reside within the fire protection district

The four appointed commissioners jointly select the fifth member, who must also reside within the fire protection district

Initial terms are staggered with three commissioners serving one-year terms and two serving two-year terms (determined by lot), with all subsequent terms being two years
