LA SB74

Removes exclusive jurisdiction over juvenile criminal cases from special juvenile courts in Caddo, Orleans, Jefferson, and East Baton Rouge parishes, allowing cases to be heard in district, parish, or city courts under certain circumstances

Grants district attorneys discretion to transfer juvenile cases from special juvenile courts to other courts: felony cases involving juveniles 15+ can go to district court; felony or misdemeanor cases involving juveniles under 15 can go to parish or city court

Extends the same transfer authority to the attorney general when serving as district attorney ad hoc

Maintains existing provisions for automatic adult court jurisdiction when juveniles 15+ are indicted for serious offenses including first and second degree murder, aggravated rape, and aggravated kidnapping

Effective August 1, 2025; amends Children's Code Articles 302, 305, and 412(A) and (E)(2)(a)
