LA SB79

Expands the definition of "industrial purposes" to explicitly include construction and operation of data centers and related commercial operations, allowing data centers to be located in designated industrial areas

Authorizes industries within industrial areas to enter cooperative endeavor agreements with parishes, municipalities, other political subdivisions, political corporations, or private entities to provide required services and facilities

Permits industries to contract with a different municipality for services if the industrial area is not within a municipality or if the local municipality is unable or unwilling to provide requested services

Requires cooperative endeavor agreements to include provisions ensuring contracted services do not impair existing obligations to provide services to current residents

Amends R.S. 33:130.12 and R.S. 51:1202, effective August 1, 2025
