Louisiana Legislature expresses condolences upon the death of Daniel Michael "Mike" Danahay Jr., who passed away February 21, 2025, at age 98

Danahay served as a military police officer in Europe during World War II and worked over 40 years as an electrician, retiring in 1988 as a member of IBEW Local Union 861

Community involvement included membership in American Legion Post 179 (Sulphur), charter membership in The National WWII Museum, and service as past chairman of the Lake Charles Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Committee

Active in Catholic faith at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Sulphur, serving as Eucharistic minister, usher, parish council president, trustee, and helping establish Knights of Columbus Councils 5755 and 8322

A copy of the resolution will be transmitted to Danahay's family, which includes six children, twelve grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren
