Commends the Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) and Irene W. Pennington Planetarium on the 100th anniversary of the historic Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Passenger Railway Station, originally constructed in 1925

The historic train depot was leased to the city of Baton Rouge in 1971, purchased by city-parish government in 1988 for $100,000, and subsequently leased to LASM for a 99-year term

The depot was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 and is built in classical revival style

LASM serves over 60,000 visitors annually, is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (a standard held by only 6% of museums nationwide), and houses over 4,000 art objects including one of the only permanent ancient Egypt galleries in the southeastern United States

Directs that a copy of the resolution be transmitted to Karen M. Soniat, PhD, President and Executive Director of LASM
