Continues the Comite River Diversion Canal/Amite River Basin Task Force, originally established in 2014, to oversee completion of a flood control project serving East Baton Rouge, Livingston, and Ascension parishes

The Comite River Diversion Canal Project will divert up to 20,000 cubic feet per second of flood water from the upper Comite River to the Mississippi River, reducing flood stages by approximately 50%

Task force comprises 16 members including state legislators, agency officials, and representatives from home builders, realtors, landowners, FEMA, and the Amite River Basin Drainage and Water Conservation District

First meeting must convene by September 30, 2025, with member appointments due by July 30, 2025; members serve without compensation

Task force terminates upon project completion or December 31, 2027, whichever occurs first, and must submit ongoing recommendations to legislative transportation committees
