Louisiana is one of only 12 out of 56 National Association of Insurance Commissioners members (50 states, DC, and 5 territories) that elects its insurance commissioner

Study will examine impacts on Louisiana's insurance market and consumer insurance costs, with the state currently having one of the highest auto insurance rates in the nation

Committee may seek input from agencies and organizations, request research and data, and conduct public hearings

Findings and recommendations for legislative changes due to the Senate by February 1, 2026
