Medicare Advantage plans offered in Louisiana must cover integrative care services when recommended by nationally recognized clinical practice guidelines and used in conjunction with diagnosis, treatment, or management of covered medical conditions

Integrative care services include acupuncture, cryotherapy, and scalp cooling systems designed for repeated use that serve a medical purpose

Plans may apply standard cost-sharing requirements including deductibles, coinsurance, copayments, and prior authorization consistent with the plan's terms

Coverage requirements apply only to the extent permitted under federal law and cannot conflict with federal Medicare Advantage regulations

Effective January 1, 2027, applying to new policies issued after January 1, 2026, with existing policies required to conform by their renewal date or January 1, 2027 at the latest
